About me
Hi, I'm David and I've been interested in photography and graphic design since I was a child. I love capturing all kinds of images from hours of set up for the perfect product photo to the instant snap shot capturing life in all its guises.
My philosophy for photography is I really like taking photo's, It's a simple as that. I love to complexity of careful planning of a product photo-shoot, learning about the client, their own philosophy towards their product. Finding out what styles
and moods they wish to express in the product photo.
I also like the freedom of going out and just finding interesting people, buildings and objects to photograph. Thinking about the composition, different angles, lighting, what mood or feeling I find in the subject and then portraying it in a still frame. I also love the fact that people can conceive different moods and feelings from the same photograph as it speaks to them in different ways.
From rolling countryside landscapes that require a 4 hour drive and a hike to simple strolling around city streets finding beauty in all different subjects, whether it be in a giant man-made skyscraper towering above you, to the little ant on the same street going on about his business not worried or even noticing the building. Life and beauty is all around us all the time and hopefully i manage to capture some small parts of it so others can enjoy it.
Having no formal training in photography I find that I can look at subjects with a different eye, the way that everyone else does and I hope that translates into the images I capture. It also means I'm continuously learning every time I grab my camera which I feel gives me an ability to learn and blend techniques as as I go along and hopefully produce unique and interesting artwork. As I always say, every day is a school day!
